Paul S. McKenzie was born in Kingston Jamaica, West Indies. He is the second of four children born to Franklin and Floris McKenzie. His family came to the United States in 1967 and later settled in Brunswick, Georgia where his father, Rev. Franklin B. McKenzie, had been called to pastor the First African Baptist Church.
Pastor McKenzie attended Emory University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982. He later attended Howard University School of Law and Cornell University School of Law where he received a legal education.
In 1986 Pastor McKenzie made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Although raised in the church and baptized at the age of twelve, personal circumstances, failures and a true recognition of his own sin brought him to a realization that a new commitment to the Lord was necessary. God, in His divine wisdom, had prepared him to begin the journey of ministry. Pastor McKenzie accepted the call to the ministry in 1990 and was ordained in 1994. He has been the Pastor of Bethel Evangel Community Church since 1992.
He and his wife Sabrenia share in the privilege of raising two wonderful children, Paul, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth.
